Advanced Encryption Package Unveils Version 6.11 with Enhanced High DPI Support and Stability Improvements

The development team behind Advanced Encryption Package (AEP) is pleased to announce the release of version 6.11, featuring significant enhancements and critical fixes that improve user experience and software stability, particularly for Windows users with high DPI monitors.

Key Improvements in AEP Version 6.11:

1. Optimized High DPI Scaling on Windows:

   • The application interface now correctly adjusts to Windows' scaling settings on high-resolution monitors.
   • Password input dialogs, especially those invoked when encrypting or decrypting files via the Windows Explorer context menu, display properly without layout issues.

2. Improved File Handling on Windows 11:

   • Double-clicking encrypted .aep files now functions seamlessly on Windows 11.
   • For image files like .png and .jpg, the software opens them in the default Windows Photo Viewer.
   • AEP waits for the viewer to close before securely deleting decrypted temporary files, ensuring data privacy.

3. Resolved 'About' Dialog Crash:

   • Fixed an application crash that occurred when users opened the "About" dialog on high DPI monitors.

4. Enhanced Stability During Encryption:

   • Addressed potential crashes when encrypting files on high DPI monitors, resulting in a more stable encryption process.

5. Improved Temporary File Management:

   • Temporary files containing lists of selected files, created when encrypting via the Explorer context menu, are now properly deleted from the temporary directory.

6. Accurate Date and Time Logging:

   • The logging window within the main application now correctly displays the current date and time, aiding in activity tracking.

7. Fixed Application Exit Crash:

   • Resolved an issue causing the application to crash upon closing the main window, ensuring a smoother shutdown experience.

8. Introduction of Anonymous Usage Statistics and Crash Reporting:

   • Implemented optional anonymous data collection to gather usage statistics and crash reports.
   • This feature is designed to help the development team enhance product quality while respecting user privacy.
