"-COMPRESS" or "-C" - enable compression of data before encryption
This command line switch disables compression of
data during encryption. It can be used with the commands: ENCRYPT, SFX,
ENCRYPTRSA
Information
This key should be used
when you would like to encrypt already encrypted files like .zip, .rar, jpg, gif. I.e. file(s) that is/are already compressed. In this case the compression should not be used, because compression of the compressed file will lead to the bigger size of the file.
Syntax
-COMPRESS
or
-C
Examples
a) encrypt mystuff.zip in
current folder without compression
AEP
e="fkEkfle" mystuff.zip
b) encrypt mystuff.txt in
current folder using compression
AEP
e="fkEkfle" -c mystuff.txt
Notes
1) By default files are
compressed
2) By default AEP
recognizes well known compression formats and disables compression for such file
types automatically: ZIP, RAR, PAK,
LZW, ARJ, CAB, Z, ARC, JPG, GIF, PNG
